The Job

The Role:

  • As the Field Service Manager you will be leading a team of up to 16 Mobile Engineers involved in Service, Repair, Maintenance and Overhaul or Standby Diesel Generators.
  • You will be responsible for full P&L of the branch with a turnover of circa £4million as well as looking after team performance.
  • You will need to do forecasts, make sure jobs are closed off, the team are compliant, training and development of the engineers and general management of the team.
  • Dealing with end users within Banking, Data Centres, Power Companies, Universities, Prisons, Supermarkets, Hospitals, Utilities, Police etc...
  • You will mainly be out and about in the field with the engineers doing site visits and audits but you will need to be in the office in Birmingham as and when required, possibly 1 or 2 days per week.
  • £35k-£40k, Car, Pension, Laptop, Mobile, 25 days’ holiday + bank holidays.

The Ideal Person:

  • Ideally you will have experience with Service of Standby Diesel Generators of have a good understanding of them.
  • You MUST have management or supervisory experience within a service operation.
  • You will need to be able to look after KPI's, objectives, response times, margins etc...
  • No qualification required.
  • Experience managing multi-engineers. Able to support the team but also discipline them when required.
  • Able to make changes and explain them to the engineers and push them to maximise the work load of the team.
