Commercial sales jobs to benefit from broadband take-up?
29 December 2009
Commercial sales jobs seekers in the telecommunications sector may be encouraged to learn that one expert believes the industry is continuing to show signs of improving.
Managing director of BT's consumer division John Petter said that competition in the market has driven innovation forward and lowered prices.
He remarked: "The fact that we are still showing strong take-up when there are more than 14 million ADSL broadband customers in the UK is testament to the unique benefits of being connected."
According to Mr Petter, the service can change lives and he noted that more and more new products are becoming available for both business and residential customers.
His comments came as the organisation celebrated passing the five million mark in terms of consumers signing up to broadband with the company.
Jon Kingsbury of the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts recently stated that providing universal super-speed broadband could create up to 600,000 jobs.
