Commercial sales jobs in business finance to receive a boost?
13 January 2010
Commercial sales jobs in the business finance sector could be set to receive a boost at the news that the Treasury is exploring the need to increase non-bank funding options for British firms.
Financial services secretary for the organisation Paul Myners said that the last two years of economic instability have highlighted the need for greater variety in the industry.
"A more diverse funding market
would clearly be an advantage to the UK economy," he remarked, "not just in economic slowdowns."
Mr Myners went on to say that this will help small and mid-size companies in particular that may struggle to access money from traditional avenues.
As such, the Treasury published a document to address the matter yesterday (January 12th), which focused on issues including corporate transparency, credit assessment and monitoring.
In October, Vicky Redwood of Capital Economics commented that business finance jobs are showing signs of improvement, adding that the industry is now beginning "to make decent profits".
