Commercial sales jobs in telecommunications to receive VoIP boost?
19 January 2010
Commercial sales jobs seekers in the telecommunications sector may be interested to learn that one industry expert believes take-up of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology will experience rapid expansion.
Senior analyst at research company IBISWorld George Van Horn stated that 75 per cent of current users are in the residential sphere, however this is likely to change.
He remarked: "Growth in commercial [VoIP] is expected to expand significantly in the future as quality and price advantages become more compelling to larger businesses."
Mr Van Horn added that the success of such equipment will be dependent on the level of service that can be provided.
Landline networks are of a much better standard at the moment, he explained, but as cost-effectiveness becomes more important, there is a chance that this will shift.
A recent survey by Frost & Sullivan found that while VoIP take-up is being stalled during the recession by the price of installation, the savings that can be made will push more firms to introduce the technology.
