IT and Telecoms 'employment on the rise'
10 February 2010
Those searching for
commercial sales jobs in IT may be interested to know that there has been an increase in the number of people being employed in the sector, new figures have revealed.
Jamie Bowler, head of marketing at the IT Job Board, noted the improvement can be put down to confidence in the long-term stability of the economy.
He added that the Digital Britain report has helped in creating an "infrastructure roadmap" that will allow technology growth.
Mr Bowler said: "Today, IT is at the core function of all business and as a result we are seeing increased demand from consultancies."
The specialist stated that "banking software and telecoms" are the sectors that will see the biggest industry growth in 2010.
A report by KPMG and the Recruitment and Employment Confederation found that 41.7 per cent of companies are employing more people now than they were a month ago - with 19.9 per cent reporting the opposite.
