Building services contract landed by Balfour Beatty
24 December 2009
Construction giant Balfour Beatty is to offer a number of building services to QinetiQ after securing a new contract with the enterprise.
Under the terms of the £15 million deal, the firm is to provide a range of facilities management functions for the technology company over a seven-year period.
Electrical and mechanical maintenance, waste supervision, logistics, helpdesk processes and mail procedures are all to be included in the arrangement.
Chief executive of Balfour Beatty Ian Tyler stated the firm is "delighted" to have been selected for the agreement.
'We look forward to transforming the facilities management service to support QinetiQ's ability to operate efficiently across all of its sites,' he stated.
The work will cover maintenance for 31 QinetiQ offices spread across Britain.
In November, Balfour Beatty confirmed that it had won a £64 million project to upgrade the Xinxiang-Heze-Ranzhou-Rizhao railway in China.
The arrangement brought the company's recent international contracts of this type to a total of £188 million.
