Building services giant makes £10m acquisition
30 December 2009
Construction sales jobs seekers may be interested to learn that building services giant Balfour Beatty has announced the acquisition of an affordable housing firm.
The deal will see Doncaster-based family-owned Strata Construction join the larger company's Mansell subsidiary business for a sum of £10.3 million.
Founded 90 years ago, Strata has developed a wide network of contacts with social landlords and has previous experience working in a number of sectors, including healthcare and education.
According to Balfour Beatty, the enterprise will be added to the portfolio of Mansell's Midlands and North Division.
The decision was made, it added, because the firm "currently has little exposure to the affordable housing market in the Yorkshire region".
In recent news, the organisation revealed that it was awarded a £15 million contract with QinetiQ.
Under the terms of the seven-year agreement, Balfour Beatty will provide a range of facilities management services for the technology specialist.
