Those seeking
construction sales jobs may be interested to note that building group Willmott Dixon has been selected as the preferred bidder for a new academy in Tamworth.
The firm has been chosen to build the Landau Forte Academy by Staffordshire County Council, a deal that is worth approximately £35 million.
Construction will start in the summer and is expected to be completed by September 2011, with the firm working in partnership with architects Aedas over the design of the building.
Landau Forte Academy will initially begin operating in the existing facilities of Woodhouse Business and Enterprise College - the education establishment it is replacing - before moving to the new site when it is completed.
Managing director for Willmott Dixon in the Midlands Peter Owen said that the company is "delighted" to be selected as the preferred bidder.
He added that all members of the firm's operations in the region are "looking forward" to creating a "fantastic" building for the academy.
Willmott Dixon Group employs over 2,500 people nationwide and is one of the UK's largest privately-owned maintenance and construction enterprises.
