Balfour Beatty lands coating, repair and treatment deals
12 January 2010
Balfour Beatty has secured contracts that could see it provide coating, repair and treatment services for two UK utilities firms.
Under the terms of the deals, worth a combined total of £600 million, the construction giant will be supplying both United Utilities and Anglian Water with the delivery of water and wastewater projects.
Sewerage infrastructure maintenance, service connection work and assets and mains renewal are also to be included in the arrangements, which are part of the AMP 5 capital programme.
Ian Tyler, chief executive of Balfour Beatty, confirmed that he and his company are "delighted" to have been selected for the initiatives.
He added: "We look forward to working closely with our customers and drawing on our skills and experience to deliver first-class customer service."
The organisation recently revealed that it bought Strata Construction, an affordable housing specialist based in Doncaster, to expand its presence in the Yorkshire region.
