Building services funding confirmed for Nottingham
15 January 2010
Construction sales jobs seekers may be interested to learn that Nottingham is to receive £1.2 million worth of building services funding through the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).
The local authorities will also be raising £1.1 million of its own to add to the financing for the development of 15 units at Camrose Close and eight properties at Lillington Road.
According to councillor Dave Liversidge, he is delighted that the area has been approved the money.
He remarked: "The funding will enable regeneration of these parts of the City to commence creating new rented properties for Nottingham residents in housing need, as well as physical improvements to the built environment."
According to Mr Liversidge, the Camrose Close project had stalled due to the economic downturn and has since become a haven for anti-social behaviour.
The financing came under round two of the government's Kickstart housing programme, which will see 73 councils across England receive a share of £290 million for stalled residential initiatives.
