Surrey building services employees back on site
19 January 2010
Building services workmen are back on site in Epsom, Surrey, after a local development received over £4 million in funding.
The financing, which was allocated under the government's Kickstart housing programme, will see 72 residences being constructed at Rosebury Heights on Rosebury Road.
Housing minister John Healey said this particular initiative shows how dedicated the authorities are to providing much-needed homes and employment in areas around the UK.
He remarked: "Getting the work underway again means more jobs for the area."
Of the 72 domiciles to be erected, 28 will be affordable homes, while 37 are to be home buy direct structures and the remaining seven will be available on the open market.
Christopher Cain, Surrey area manager at the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), noted that while the property sector has suffered through the recession, investment in projects such as this is a huge help for the local community.
It follows recent approval of £1.2 million worth of funding by the HCA for the construction of houses in Nottingham.
