Building services giant Skanska wins schools contract
Those searching for a job in the construction sales industry may be interested to learn that building services company Skanska has won a contract to erect three schools in Essex.
Under the terms of the agreement, the organisation will assume responsibility for developing, building and maintaining the institutions - with repair work set to continue for 26 years from 2011.
The Private Finance Initiative will see the project completed in collaboration alongside authorities within the Essex Local Education Partnership (LEP).
Skanska will invest £6 million of its own money in the plan, which will allow it assume majority control of the consortium behind the scheme.
A fourth school will be designed and built by the corporation and the link up between the LEP and the group will last for an initial ten-year period.
The announcement follows the approval of a similar proposal, which will see inspiredspaces redevelop 26 schools in Wolverhampton.
