Building services 'boost' for Clyde
4 February 2010
Those in
construction sales jobs may be encouraged to learn that building services company Lovell has won a contract to develop affordable housing in Port Glasgow.
It is the first scheme to be announced after the organisation declared a tie-up with the River Clyde Homes housing association in a four-year framework agreement.
Alan Taylor, Lovell regional director, stated he was delighted to begin work on the new project, which will create 195 dwellings that are to be made available for rent through the association.
He added: "We'll be working closely with the housing association and the local community throughout the construction of the new housing."
And the group revealed that it is working with the Inverclyde Trust to try and to get jobs for local people and businesses.
It was recently publicised that the Clyde area would also benefit in the engineering sector with BAE Systems looking to recruit new staff for its Surface Ships business.
