Building service company to expand retail park
5 February 2010
Construction sales job seekers may be encouraged to learn that a multi-million pound expansion application has been launched - in a move that could create 400 jobs for the area of Aberdeenshire.
The plan, being proposed by Northburn Developments, would see a 60-bedroom hotel and restaurant, a 100-acre park and a superstore added to the existing retail unit in Inverurie, the Aberdeen Press and Journal reports.
Director of the company Alan Mitchell stated the expansion and park proposals will go hand-in-hand and that the development will create better access routes.
He told the paper: "Our plan will give Inverurie a green heart by creating a public park of regional significance."
Mr Mitchell added that the area is proving an attractive location for leading national brand names, while talks with a leading hotel chain were at an advanced stage.
The Inverurie outlet opened in 2009 and it is viewed as an integral part of the town's expansion, which will see improvements made in the local infrastructure.
