BAM awarded building services contract
25 February 2010
Construction sales jobs seekers may be encouraged to learn that BAM has been chosen to carry out a £600 million programme to redevelop schools in the Somerset area.
The Building Schools for the Future programme is expected to begin in June 2010, with £100 million being invested in rebuilding four secondary and two special schools in the region.
Robert Young, director of BAM, noted that the whole organisation was excited to be part of such a wide reaching programme of work.
He added: "We look forward to working with the council, schools, communities and other stakeholders in Bridgwater, and thereafter across Somerset, to make the Somerset BSF Programme a huge success for all concerned."
The company will also be Somerset County Council's private sector partner for the Local Education Partnership.
It was recently announced that building services giant Skanska had been awarded a contract to construct and maintain three schools in Essex.
