More building services 'coming to schools'
9 March 2010
Construction sales jobs seekers may be encouraged to learn that a further six local authorities are to join the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme, it has emerged.
They include Cornwall, Gateshead and Sutton and £420 million is to be invested in their education provisions.
Chief executive of Partnerships for Schools Tim Byles noted that the announcement would ensure that more people would get the establishment that they deserved.
"Around 90 per cent of all local authorities and private sector companies involved in BSF agree that the programme is now delivering," he added.
The decision means that 24 projects have received approval this year so far, which brings the number of local authorities now involved in the BSF programme to 101 - and the amount of schools signed up to 149.
It was recently announced that inspiredspaces has won a contract to redevelop 26 Wolverhampton institutions, in a project that is expected to cost up to £370 million.
