Engineering sales jobs sector 'needs to be sustained'
10 December 2009
Engineering sales jobs seekers may be encouraged to hear that one expert believes more support needs to be given to the manufacturing sector to ensure it continues to recover.
Chief executive at the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) Paul Everitt noted that while "there is growth" in the industry, more should be done to sustain this.
Commenting on recent remarks made by the Engineering Employers' Federation (EEF) that the sector has begun to improve, he said that organisations should "share the view".
"A healthy exchange rate and signs of growth in the big global economy are all positive," Mr Everitt added.
According to the specialist, governments in the UK and around the world will play a large role in how effectively the upturn can be maintained.
Earlier this week, EEF stated that new manufacturing orders are starting to pick up, especially in the export market, where the balance has gone from minus 44 per cent to minus five per cent in the last half-year.
