Engineering sales jobs 'boosted by manufacturing boom'
5 March 2010
Engineering sales jobs seekers may be encouraged to learn that the manufacturing industry has shown a marked improvement.
Adam Buckley, head of programmes for The Manufacturing Institute, noted it is a positive step that the industry has been able to improve the balance of trade through exports, as the low value of the pound means that businesses can capitalise on overseas interest.
Whichever party gets, elected it is important that it adds to the current "industrial activism" that is apparent, he remarked.
"It is vital that the incoming government gets behind the sector and provides consistent and strong support to this rebalancing of the economy," Mr Buckley added.
The Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply/Markit Purchasing Managers' Index recently announced that manufacturing production increased for the ninth consecutive month, with the fastest growth rate since September 1996.
Firms also reported a swell in both domestic and international exports and new business was close to January's six-year high.
