Sales teams 'need multifaceted training'
1 July 2009
Sales employees require a number of different elements in their marketing training to ensure maximum efficiency, one expert has suggested.
Chief executive officer and founder of sales research company Imparta Richard Barkey commented that keeping a team at the peak of its performance is reliant on a number of factors.
He remarked: "To succeed in building sales or marketing excellence, you have to combine an excellent methodology with effective learning and reinforcement; training on its own is a waste of time and resources."
Mr Barkey's statement comes after the organisation was ranked among the top vendors in four key categories of ESR's Sales Training Vendor Guide.
The firm was recognised for excelling in its sales methodology, formalised customisation programmes, results measurement and deployment of technology.
Earlier this year, Microsoft Dynamics CRM general manager Brad Wilson said that people working in sales need access to the most detailed and accurate business information to enable them to increase their working operations.
