"Worst is over" for unemployment

Those seeking
sales jobs may be interested to learn that one expert believes the peak may have been reached in terms of unemployment.
Research fellow at the Institute for Employment Studies Thomas Usher stated that recent Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures showing a decrease in the number of people without work is a good sign.
"It certainly looks for now like the worst is over," he remarked, but added: "Whatever happens, the recovery is going to be slow and halting."
According to Mr Usher, when comparing the data for this recession and other recent economic downturns, the labour market has fared much better this time around.
A definitive reason for this is hard to pinpoint, he added, although it seems working practices are much more flexible now.
The ONS revealed that in the three months between September and November 2009, the number of individuals without a job fell by 7,000 when compared with the previous quarter.
