Making a job offer

Great, you have found the right candidate and now you need to make them a job offer and get them on board to start work as soon as possible. Some useful tips include...

  • Always make the job offer through your On Target Recruitment consultant who is on hand to advise you every step of the way.
  • Make sure that you have all of the information with regard to the package on offer including basic salary, commission structure details, car or car allowance policy and all other benefits.
  • Try to ensure that you can accommodate a quick start date, so that the candidate cannot be tempted to continue their job seeking.
  • Where possible email the offer letter as soon as On Target Recruitment confirms verbal acceptance of your offer and follow up with a hard copy via the post.
  • Will the offer be subject to references, medical or credit checks? Do you have all the information you need from the candidate?
  • Keep in regular contact with On Target Recruitment and the candidate throughout their notice period, to answer any questions that may arise.
  • Make sure that the candidate has full joining instructions for their start date.

Laura, I really wanted to drop you a quick note to thank you for your knowledge and understanding with regard to the candidates you are sending to me. Without question they fit the key competencies I discussed with you which is a real credit to your fact finding and the grilling you gave me before we embarked on this partnership. Thanks once again.
